Atco Aboriginal Awards Program is aimed at supporting Aboriginal students from First Nations and Metis communities in close proximity to our facilities. Successful applicants will demonstrate a balanced lifestyle and commitment in the pursuit of education.

RMSS Music Bursary
One Award of up to $500 intended for students wishing to pursue musical training outside school. It is not restricted to those entering post-secondary programs. Selection is made by the RMSS musical society.

Two scholarships of $500 each are available for the 2009-2010 academic year. The fields of study that will receive priority under the program are: Certificate, Diploma, or Degree Programs in Forestry or Natural Resource Management or Environmental Sciences; Certificate or Degree programs in Wood Products Manufacturing; Certificate, Diploma, or Degree Programs in Technical Fields leading to a career in the forest products industry.

Government Scholarships & Bursaries

675 Scholarships of $1000 awarded annually. This Scholarship is designed to recognize the excellence of Alberta apprentices in a trade, and trainees in a designated occupation, and to encourage recipients to complete their apprenticeship or occupational training programs.

Six scholarships are awarded annually for two years of study at United World Colleges. These awards are based on academic ability, leadership capability, references, and an interview. Applicants must be Alberta Residents in the process of completing Grade 11.

A $3000 bursary for Alberta students who are within two years of completing their program. In exchange for the bursary, students agree to work in northern Alberta upon graduation. Around 110 NADC Bursaries are awarded each year

Award recipients are involved in voluntary humanitarian work, Canadian citizens, entering a Canadian post-secondary institution, and maintain a satisfactory grade point average. The value of the award is $7,000 per year, paid directly to the institution in two installments of $3,500 each.

Two $1000 Scholarships Available for Studies Leading Toward a Career in Forestry or Forest Products Manufacturing for students in the Slave Lake area. The fields of study that will receive priority under the program can be certificate, diploma, or degree programs in related fields.

Funding from $500 to $1500 is available to residents of the North Peace region who wish to pursue careers in forest management and forest industry manufacturing. Strongest consideration will be given to students who pursue studies related to the manufacturing side of the forestry industry. These can be degree or diploma progams.

Business

One graduating student from High Prairie School Division will be awarded a scholarship of $2500 over four years totalling a maximum of $10,000. The scholarship is intended to assist students pursuing post-secondary education in an oil and gas industry related field through a degree, diploma or certificate.

Aboriginal Scholarships

Applicants must be Registered Indian, Inuit or Més, be residents of Alberta and entering their first year of post-secondary study at an accredited Alberta post-secondary institution. Value: $500 to $1,250
