Thanks for joining us on our “Eat Lunch with your Child” day. It was good to see so many of you.

You have already received the re-registration package, the Boreal/end of year swimming permission note and the school survey.  If you haven’t returned these please do so as soon as possible.  We don’t want anyone left out.  I am looking for a couple of supervisors for the Boreal Centre trip,  if you can help us please let me know.

Next week is the last week for new Word Wall Words. After that we will review the words that we have learned.  Home reading will continue until mid June.

In Math we are measuring by comparing and ordering lengths, volume, mass and by covering area.  You may have noticed their footprint that went home.  They were one way we used non standard units to measure.  We continue to use dot collections to build number sense for addition and subtraction. They are practicing using math strategies to solve math problems.  These strategies are; counting on, counting back, making doubles and making ten. I will send a math problem home in their agenda.  Have your child tell you which strategy they use to solve it.

We will certainly be reading and writing until the last day.  I am enjoying their writing ideas.  I hope you will too.

In Science Seasonal Changes tie in with the Needs of Plants and Animals.  The program at the Boreal Centre is a marvelous way for our students to experience this.  We will also be watching the life cycle of butterflies – from egg to butterfly.  You are welcome to stop by and view them with us.  We will keep you posted in the agendas. I need an IKEA type mosquito net for our butterfly pavilion.  If you have one we can use please let me know.
